Heckel Discus - The Movie

Some short films of my attempt to create a Heckel Discus biotope.

Tank volume 720L.
Background - Aquaterra Amazon.
Substrate - 0,2-0,7mm fine sand.
Filtration/circulation - external filter Eheim 2260 2400l/h, Aquael powerhead 1100l/h, internal filter Fluval 600l/h.

Inhabitants are nine wild caught Heckel Discus, ten Corydoras Sterbaii, one L144 Ancistrus sp. and finally one L333 Hypancistrus sp.

Poddan... I know... *sigh*.. Talked to Kaj the other day when we where at his place and he told me he's planning on bringing some new wilds in in september. If I manage to keep the water to their needs and these heckels still are doing well at that time, I think I'll go for five or six more heckels.

keep up the superb work, you will breed heckels if you keep the fishes like you do. Give it a year. Probubly the best looking group of young heckels in Sweden the are so full of energy!
