Hi,

I was in Russia visiting the largest discus (and stingray) breeder and the ZooRussia, therefore can only answer today.

Yes, the P. altum Pellegrin, 1904 is only found in upper Orinoco affluents. As said in may websites already the good ones came from Venezuela, but no exports for a few years already. Colombia is shipping some from Puerto Inirida, but usually die (unfortunately). We can only hope in the future venzuela opens again and/or I go again...

I am collecting every year (twice or three times - see http://www.aquapress-bleher.com under Latest news) in Amazonia, but have not been back to Venezuela because of politics for a number of years now.

All the best

Hi,

I do not have the time you all seem to have.
Matte gave you a link. The upper photos of Hustinx are P. altums, the correct species from the upper Orinoco. Look at them closely, if you cannot look at my book, or the Nutrafin Aquatic News publication. The internet is not EVERYTHING.

Best regards
