Thanks guys,

Let you guys in on something- hope you guys don't get mad or think I'm blowing my horn. Just the opposite. :2tubsup:
I've been planting tanks for 7 years- only the last 2 years have been serious. Discus is actually a side hobby. lol
I'm the current President of my local aquascaping forum at http://www.my-mac.net setup a little more than a year ago.
You're free to join and share there- 99% friendly chaps who'll be more than happy to share.
My ranking in 2006 Takashi Amano's IAPLC was 81
Last year 60.
This year? :dontknow:hope to at least top 100 ranking. :confus1:

This tank is 5X2X2
setup with ADA soil + decorative white sand.
2 X grand solar one lights =440W
Filter is Eheim 2028 PII & Eheim 2217.

Maintenance is
10 pumps Brighty K + 10 pumps Green Brighty Special Lights daily.
1 long squirt of ECA iron daily.
Some multi long bottoms and regular top up of soil is a must every 3 months.
every 2 months filter unclogging.
Bacter 100 to reseed filter.
I also use green bacter, phyton git and green gain occasionally.
I have some crypts that love this brand called Ferka Rosetta. The capsules are stabbed into the soil.

The lights are turned on for 6 hours daily as a high light but low maintenance tank.
CO2 injection is about 3-5 bubbles per second with a small 4.5W powerhead to increase flow.
temperature of tank is 25-27ºC with fan but evaporation has to be dealt with every 3 days. [refill]
WC every week or two weeks-30-50%

I scrape the glass every week during WC and lastly

Plants are-
Bolbitis heudelotii
Microsorum pteropus narrow leave[needle leave]
Microsorum pteropus 'Phillippine'
Microsorum pteropus 'Windelov'
Cryptocoryne wendtii [green, brown and green gecko]

Spiky moss
Weeping moss
Eleocharis acicularis-hairgrass
Echinodorus horemanii, uruguayensis and ozelot.
Didiplis diandra
Fissidens fontanus

Discus-blue snakeskin
mix of small fishes
rummy nose
Carnigiella strigata-Marble hatchet
Nannostomus eques
Trigonostigma espei-lambchop rasbora
Corydoras duplicareus

Worker fishes
Otocinclus affinis
SAE
Yamato
Cherry shrimp
Garra flavatra

This tank is very messy at the moment. Will not even make 200 place this year in my opinion. :blush3:

Feel free to ask. I don't know it all but will glad to share.

kaj.p wrote:Awsome tank Stan.   And blue snakskin are they from Davids pair?
Hi Kaj, these are from Jeffrey Yang. Really nice fellas and he let me pick 7 from over 50. For which I'm grateful. :heart5:
The pairs are in my friend's hands to breed, he promised me some nice smaller ones back. :D

Ask Jeff if he has not sold them off. He said he had sent nicer ones overseas. hmmmm but I'm quite happy with these. Really surprised at getting 3 pairs. lol.

I'm considering putting in my red spotted greens in here for the photo shoot. :confus1: Just afraid they won't stand out. Back up plan is 100 green neons or riesei's. Tiny fish... :2tubsup:

I think so too, I'd love to make a nicer one with more swimming space though. This is a bit cramped for them I think!
