Identify my heckel..

Can someone please help me identify my heckel diskus. When i got them i asked the importer where they were caught and he only knew "Rio Negro" but i guess Rio negro is quite long and maby there is some differences in the heckel caught there..

Hehe, thanx! Really nice link with lots of wild caught fish.
I guess i'll have to live with just calling my fish "heckel". Many of them look so much alike and more or less looks like mine.

this is Heiko Bleher and I just wanted to help.

The Heckel discus you have are, I am quite certain: the upper photo is a discus from the Rio Abacaxis and the lower from the Marimari river.

You can check it with all the Heckel variants in my book Bleher's Discus volume 1, also.

I am sorry that some of you referre for identification of discus (specially wild) to a website with mostly names given by importers, which have very little or nothing to do with the location of collecting, nor are there many river names (mostly names of villages, or non-existing places, except for in the trade...). One should know that, before giving wrong advice. Specially on such a great forum as this...

Just remember that.

To the owner: please feed those Heckel discus well, as the upper animal specially has not had much food before being shipped...

I'm more than a bit confused by this answer from the expert.
From what I can see, both photos show the same fish...

if it is the same fish, it is still from the Abacaxi-Marimari basin (the latter is an affluent of the former).
