Yes, tha's human food. Me mince that and add spinich, spirulina flake food and some garlic.
That's how it looks after mincing. Heckels absolutley love it

Super nice fish!!!

Do you give them the food just like that, or do you prepare it somehow more? I make some similar stuff, but I use a creamtube (for cakes) and squeeze some out in thick lines on a baking plate. After drying out it doesent cloud the water so much.

I have been studying plenty wild Discus and I noticed that the best is to vary the feeding.

They adore Alive saline artemias I feed the artemias with spirulina and later I offer to my Discus, the heart beef with spirulina is also well accept and a good dries diet granulated or flake and essential.

The best result in feeding is when I use alive foods.
the larger difficulty is to get a stable supply of alive foods with good quality
I have some information on alive foods in this link
http://www.hek.com.br/artigo.php?codigo=25 ( live foods )
The important and to try to vary to the maximum the types of foods.
In the Amazonian rivers and lakes they find a complete diversified feeding.

I hope I can contribute with that information

thank you for all .

having seen Barbaras fish first hand I can say that she had one of the greatest pairs of heckels I have ever seen. I would also suggest that she uses no secrets other than she showers them with lve and attention and caters for their needs.
All the best Dougall

Hi all, and specially Hendrik,

I just came back from discus judging in Malaysia (and just before that in China) and wanted to tell you, that that you Hendrik, had one of the finest Heckel discus in Duisburg and unfortunately the judges did ignore it greatly. But to me it was the best wild discus in the show (together with an Alenquer region wild from Nidal from Greece). Please have a look at you fish at my site:

I hope you still have it and you cure it well...

All the best,

always

Heiko
